Youth Camp is returning this summer with Disney’s Finding Nemo, Jr.!
Please note: Our 2025 Regular Youth Camp is now full. A limited number of spots are still available for our Tech Camp and our Younger Youth Camp options.
We have three Youth Camp options:
- Our regular Youth Camp for ages 8–18, who will be presenting Finding Nemo Jr. (REGISTRATION IS FULL)
- Younger Youth Camp for ages 6–7, who will join in for three musical numbers in Finding Nemo Jr.
- Tech-only Youth Camp, for ages 12–18, who will help backstage during Finding Nemo Jr. (Please note that these are BACKSTAGE ONLY; they are NOT performing onstage!)
2025 Regular Youth and Tech-Only Camps
This year we are offering both a Regular Camp and a Tech Camp.
REGULAR CAMP: (REGISTRATION IS NOW FULL)
Our regular Summer Youth Camp will be producing Finding Nemo Jr., a musical based on the beloved Disney/Pixar movie. Camp dates are June 3-28, with performances on the evening of Thursday, June 26th and the afternoon and evening of Saturday, June 28th.
• For ages 8–18.
◦ Limited to 40 students
• Cost: $125 per student ($10 rebate for additional siblings)
◦ Includes script, Friday snacks, camp shirt, and costume (excluding base layer)
TECH CAMP
Our Tech camp is for students who want to learn more about the backstage technical aspects of theatre. These spot are BACKSTAGE ONLY; they will NOT be performing onstage. Along with the basic theatre topic workshops, Tech students will learn about different technical aspects of theatre, such as sets, props, sound, lighting, backstage organization, etc. They will provide backstage tech support during the performances of Finding Nemo, Jr. Camp dates are June 3-28, with performances on the evening of Thursday, June 26th and the afternoon and evening of Saturday, June 28th.
• For ages 12–18.
◦ Limited to 5 students
• Cost: $110 per student ($10 rebate for additional siblings)
◦ Includes Friday snacks, camp shirt, and costume (tech crew)
Regular Camp and Tech camp will both follow the same schedule:
• Location: All camp classes and performances will all be held at the lower end of the Silverlake Amphitheater, at the bottom of the hill.
• Camp Schedule:
◦ First day is Tuesday, June 3
◦ Classes will run June 3–20, on Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
◦ First 2 weeks will include workshops on basic theatre topics.
◦ Fridays will be set build days.
• Performance week (June 23–28):
◦ Finding Nemo Jr. will be performing Thursday, June 26th at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, June 28th at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
◦ Evening rehearsals will be held on June 23-25 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
◦ June 26th is the opening performance with call time 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
◦ June 28th call time is 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a break and cast party between the two performances.
◦ Friday, June 27th will be a cast party (the amphitheatre is being used by the city that evening so there will not be a performance that day).
• Auditions will be held Friday, May 16 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
◦ Prepare a short monologue or poem to recite and a 1 minute song (bring a backup track if possible).
◦ Tech students do not need to attend auditions.
• Parent information meeting to explain camp requirements and expectations will be held on Monday, May 19th. Only parents need to attend this meeting (for both regular and tech camp).
2025 Younger Youth Camp
This year we are including a Younger Youth Camp option for children ages 6–7 years old. Younger students will participate in 3 songs in Finding Nemo, Jr. Camp dates are June 4-28, with performances on the evening of Thursday, June 26th and the afternoon and evening of Saturday, June 28th.
• For ages 6-7.
◦ Limited to 10 students
• Cost: $60 per student
◦ Includes camp shirt
• Location: All classes will take place at Silverlake Amphitheater (at the top of the hill near the bathrooms). We will be under canopies. (The students in Finding Nemo Jr. will be at the bottom of the hill, so please make sure you stay/park at the top.)
Performances will be held at the Silverlake Amphitheater, at the bottom of the hill.
• Camp Schedule:
◦First day of camp is Monday, June 2, which will be a mandatory parent meeting, so it will probably run shorter. The first full day of camp activities will be Wed., June 4.
◦ Classes will run June 2–20, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
◦ Students will learn basic singing, dancing, and acting techniques.
◦ Students will perform in three numbers in our regular Youth Camp’s production of Finding Nemo Jr.
